My sister and I recently visited Sedona, AZ, a place known for being the location of several energy vortices. We visited two of these vortex sites, and had very different experiences at both. We felt one far more strongly than the other. The picture above is at one of these vortex sites. This particular spot held a strong energy of love and well-being. I really didn't know much about energy vortices, other than they are an "energy center" so I sat down to ask my guides if they could explain more about these vortices. What exactly is a vortex? In all honesty, Jim's question intimidated me because it is such a BIG question, and one I couldn't quite wrap my head around. Both solstices and equinoxes are opportunities—portals if you will—for energy to enter the plane in such a way that allows a deeper permeation and integration. This is similar to how celestial bodies affect the earth and it’s inhabitants based upon proximity (such as the moon’s affect on the tides and on people’s moods). When the earth is aligned in particular ways it creates an opportunity for energy to enter the plane in a more “intense” or direct way. During a solstice or equinox there is a particular alignment the earth has with other celestial bodies that makes energy penetration amplified. What does it mean to be successful? Fat paychecks? A nice car? A job that comes with status and prestige? These are the beliefs that are instilled in us at a young age. It’s a pretty rigid set of   expectations to live up to and built within those expectations are all kinds of opportunities to feel like a failure. Because if you don’t achieve these so-called definitions of success then you must, by default, be a failure.   I looked up the definition of success on dictionary.com and right there in black and white it says: “the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.” So by very definition, we are taught that if we aren’t wealthy, we suck. If we don’t have a revered position in the community, we suck. If we don’t receive accolades and honors, we suck. According to this definition, pretty much all of us are failures, given that only 1% of the population is considered wealthy. A brilliant question out of Asheville, NC: I understand that the energy we put into the world contributes either to peace or strife. I’m working on expressing only love and releasing judgment. But how do I express love/withhold judgment towards terrorists, murderers, and rapists? First of all, don’t be hard on yourself! You are learning to love, healing those parts of you that withhold love, and this is part of the human process. But understand that it is a process. So it’s okay to falter and fluctuate. And understand that you don't necessarily have to feel love towards these ones, but you can stop feeling hate. You can transform judgment into understanding.  That said, let us introduce a new way to look at those in your world considered awful or malicious.
