Blood Moons--Why All the Hype?



Much gratitude to Karen Johnson for this question. Karen inquired if there was anything to all the buzz around blood moons. Here is what the the spirit guides had to say:



It is not so much the type of moon (harvest moon, blood moon, farmer’s moon) that has an effect on people as it is about the moon’s proximity to earth and the phase the moon is in. Each moon phase carries different energy, as it is in a different cycle and pattern. Within each cycle, the proximity of the moon to the earth changes. A full moon has the most noticeable effects on people because this is the time the moon is closest to the earth.  As such, the energetic influences of the moon are felt more strongly. When one refers to a “blood moon” this is a term referring to a full moon that is orange or red in color. The color has to do with the way the light is hitting the moon in its orbit in conjunction with atmospheric gases. The light will occasionally reflect off the moon in such a way that it has this orange/red effect. This color alone does not in actuality mean much in terms of the effects on moods, the energy being felt, etc. but because “blood moons” are full it has become associated with heightened energies. Yes, full moons in general do have a powerful affect on the earth plane. Think of how the moon pulls the tides. This effect it has on water does not escape you, as the human makeup is over 70% fluid. As the moon’s proximity to earth changes, the effects change. Due to these noticeable effects, all sorts of superstitions and lore have arisen around full moons and the varying types of full moons (harvest moons, blue moons, blood moons). Again, the color is due to the way of light reflecting off the moon, in conjunction with atmospheric gases. This alone does not produce noticeable effects on humans, other than providing a pretty view. :)

A Note to the Empaths During Covid-19

So here I am doing the thing I didn't want to do--adding my voice to the corona-convo which feels like adding more noise to a cacophony. I've honestly been trying to avoid the conversation altogether but that has proven impossible. I'm in information overload.
