Creation & The Diversity in Consciousness

The following channeling/post was prompted by a question from Jim Donaldson. In all honesty, Jim's question intimidated me because it is such a BIG question, and one I couldn't quite wrap my head around. I'm not even sure now how to articulate the question so I present Jim's email in it's entirety which is followed by the answer I received from the other side. I feel like this is only a "Part 1", as it seems there are many more layers here to be examined and explored! I do imagine more will be written, and in more depth and detail in the near future. :)


Jim writes:

"I will ask you one question which has been in my thoughts for many years. 

This has to do with creation.  Here are some fairly universal understandings in the new age movement:

1. There is no such thing as time - it is just a convenience for us on the earth plane

2. There is no such thing as space - it is just a convenience for us on the earth plane

3. There are different levels of consciousness.  On one end of the spectrum are inanimate objects and then single cell life and on the other end of the spectrum are those such as your guides.

4. Evolution is the journey from lower levels of consciousness to the highest level of enlightenment

5. Earth's history records that there have been many highly enlightened souls who have incarnated in the earth plane to help move mankind along the way.  For example:  Christ, Buddha, Lord Krishna, Manu, and in modern times Yogananda.  These personages delivered messages very similar to your guides.  

Now....  here's is my question.   If the physical universe was created in a single moment of the Big Bang, how is the diversity of consciousness accounted for?  In other words, if everything was essentially created at once, how is it that some are fully enlightened souls and others are single cell life or are skunks, or pigs, or my really dumb cat?  Free will does not answer this because it seems that the animal kingdom seems to be driven by instinct. 

Even if one takes the position that life above the animal is created separately and uniquely, it does not appear to me that free will accounts for those who are constantly reincarnating to learn lessons and those who have been fully enlightened for eons.  Throw in a dash of "there really is no time" thought process and you've got the making a really great mystery."

Channeled from my friends on the other side is the following response:

Jim—these are truly insightful questions and ones we’d be happy to address. First and foremost, we need to address some of the common new age perceptions you listed because there are a few that are flawed. For instance, evolution isn’t necessarily about moving from an unenlightened to an enlightened state in the sense of moving “up” a hierarchal scale. For example, one may choose to incarnate as a saint one lifetime and as a thief the very next. All experience is enlightening and all of it together allows the soul to expand. So the first error is a belief that each soul/being must move from a “lower” vibration to a “higher” vibration.  Each experience of life, whatever it may be, serves to expand a soul’s awareness and as such the awareness of all, as everything is intricately connected.

            The second error is in the assumption that an animal has “less consciousness’” than a human. Intelligence perhaps, consciousness no. Divine energy permeates all living things and while yes, inanimate objects will have less consciousness than living things, all living things can be considered to share the same “amount” of the divine that dwells in all. So, with all of this in mind (and yes it is true, space and time are illusory constructs designed for the human realm) the ultimate question of how things can have varying levels of enlightenment if all was created at once becomes more simple.

            All things are created equal—with the same divine thread running through. With that in mind, there are many varying dimensions, each resonating within it’s own particular range of frequency. All of these dimensions, all of these realms, offer exploratory and experiential experiences for the individual soul and consequently the whole. Each vibration experienced offers a different facet of life to be explored. The particular dimension (vibrational range) a soul chooses to explore is dependent upon its current goals and desires, the benefit/needs of the whole, and it’s own ability/desire to connect with its innate divine nature. The bottom line is this—each and every being everywhere has full divine light and love within them. Each being already has everything it needs to be “enlightened”. The extent to which a being activates that divine spark within and aligns with it will vary. This variance looks like a world full of people with varying levels/degrees of consciousness. In truth, you have all the answers already within you. They just aren’t within reach of the conscious mind. So innately, you (and all beings everywhere) are all equally whole, perfect, and divine. We are limited here in our explanation because of the level of awareness that the human brain can consciously access. The capacity of the human brain to understand this fully is limited. It is not an insult, it is merely the dynamics of the current human brain with which you operate. You, as humans, are living in a realm of a certain vibrational frequency. As such, your body and brain are designed to function within this range of frequency. Some truths will be just beyond the reach of your current vibrational experience as you are operating within certain parameters.

            We hope this offers some clarity regarding your questions. They are big questions and you are right, ones that could prompt an entire book! We applaud a questioning mind and a curious thinker. It is what propels humanity forward in all endeavors. Please don’t stop being curious or asking questions. It delights us so to know that humans are interested in learning more about themselves and their divine connection to all things.
