The Vernal Equinox--From an Energetic Perspective
Both solstices and equinoxes are
opportunities—portals if you will—for energy to enter the plane in such a way
that allows a deeper permeation and integration. This is similar to how
celestial bodies affect the earth and it’s inhabitants based upon proximity
(such as the moon’s affect on the tides and on people’s moods). When the earth
is aligned in particular ways it creates an opportunity for energy to enter the
plane in a more “intense” or direct way. During a solstice or equinox there is
a particular alignment the earth has with other celestial bodies that makes
energy penetration amplified. The energy of a solstice will be different than
the energy of an equinox because the earth is aligned in a different way for
each. As such, the energy you personally experience in the plane will differ
depending on whether it is an equinox or solstice. This has always been the
case but there is now an increased sensitivity to it due to the recent vibratory shift in the
plane. In short, people are more “tuned in” to the energy now.
The spring equinox is often
associated with newness—with rebirth and fresh beginnings and letting go of the
old. This is a traditional interpretation of the vernal equinox and while it is
beneficial to align with nature’s “newness” as she wakens from winter and
begins a new cycle of growth—there is more to the influx of energy than this.
Typically, the energetic amplification that occurs during an equinox (or
solstice) has to do with the current experiences of the plane as a whole. It is
the nature of energy to be constantly shifting and moving—energy does not
naturally remain stagnant. As the earth, and you, are energetic beings, it is
natural that you will continually be shifting and growing. However, within the
human experience it is common to have resistance to growth and change. As such,
energetic imbalances are created as you resist the natural flow of energy
through you (this is done by being resistant to change, holding tightly to old
beliefs and habit patterns that no longer serve us, and so on).
During an equinox or solstice the
amplification of energy that is experienced on your planet often serves to
“shake up” those stagnant energies that are ready to be released. This is the
reason many people will feel their “baggage” coming up during these times. It
is common to feel irritable, sad, tired, anxious, and so on during an equinox
or solstice. That which needs released is being shaken up and moved out. So in
this sense, that broad interpretation of ‘out with the old, in with the new’
stands true. What comes up for
release and what is newly embraced will differ depending on what individuals
are experiencing personally and what the earth plane is experiencing
collectively. The best thing one can do during these times of celestial
alignment is to remain centered, grounded and to take excellent care of the
physical body. As much energy is being shifted—both released and
assimilated—the cleaner the body, the easier the process is. Hydration is key.
Amping up your water intake during these times (a few days before, during, and
a few days after) is beneficial. As energy moves through you at an amplified
rate, the physical body is busy trying to process and cleanse. The kidneys and
liver are working hard to release toxins that are being released. Drinking a
lot of water helps the body to flush the toxins that are being shaken up and
moved through the system. Maintaining a pure diet during these times also
assists the physical body.
It is common for people to practice
ceremonies and rituals around these times and that can be a beneficial way to
facilitate the release of energy no longer serving you and consciously align
with the “new” energy you wish to embrace. These times are ripe for
transformation and by aligning with that in whatever way resonates for you (meditation,
ceremony, ritual, etc.) can help facilitate your personal process. To be
clear—a ceremony in and of itself is not he point. If it doesn’t resonate for
you, it won’t do much for you. It is not about the action taken, but about the
feelings of the person taking the action and the intent behind the action. It
is beneficial to somehow acknowledge and align with the process of energy
amplification taking place. This allows the conscious mind to get on board with
what is happening and as a creative being, if you fully believe a ceremony
facilitates the transformation of energies, then it indeed will have such
effects. As things happen at an energetic level, it is up to you how you choose
to embrace and acknowledge that at a mental/physical level. By aligning with
whatever actions resonate for you during a process of energetic shift, you add
power and intent to the process.
The bottom line is this: take care
of yourself. As the earth’s alignment with other celestial bodies create an
energetic gateway that affects our plane, help move that energy in a safe and
balanced way. Eat well, rest, hydrate, and engage in practices that resonate
for you as you anchor in new light.
Blessings!
